World Bank conference "Land and Poverty 2014" was held

In the World Bank headquarters in Washington (USA) the annual conference "Land and Poverty in 2016" titled „Scaling up Responsible Land Governance“ is held during period 14th to 27th of March 2016.

The Conference brought together about 1400 representatives from around the world involved primarily in World Bank Land Administration projects, as well as representatives of the World Agricultural Organization (FAO), the World Federation of Surveyors (FIG), UN-Habitat and a number of other institutions and key stakeholders from civil society, academia, the development community, and the private sector.

This year’s conference has paid special attention to mainstreaming innovations, and sustaining investments in land governance and question of gender issues and minorities in access to and the right on land.

Conference participants have discussed what can be done to guarantee inclusiveness, sustainability, and reliability, build capacity, and ensure that better land information and more tenure security contribute to wider societal objectives and progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals. 

Supported by project "Capacity Building for Improvement of Land Administration and Procedures in Bosnia and Herzegovina" (CILAP) the conference was attended by representatives of both entities Administrations for Geodetic and Real Property Affairs Mr. Denis Tabučić (FGU) i Mrs. Tamara Travar (RGU RS) and accompanied by CILAP representative Mrs. Jelena Zelić.

Two expert papers/articles related to the activities carried out by geodetic administrations with support of CILAP, RERP and other projects were also presented. Thus, CILAP project representative Mrs. Jelena Zelić presented a paper on "Sales Price Register as basic and first step on the way to comprehensive Mass Valuation System and Bosnia and Herzegovina", which is directly linked to the activities of CILAP project component 3.

Employee of the sector for Geoinformatics of the Federal Administration for Geodetic and Real-Property Affairs Mr. Denis Tabučić in a joint presentation with Mrs. Božena Lipej presented a paper on "Towards Sustainable Land Administration in Bosnia and Herzegovina with Improved Customer Service Delivery".
