Workshop within Component 6 of CILAP project related to ICT - Web Services

In accordance with the of the CILAP planned activities, workshop regarding Component 6 was held in hotel “Sarajevo” in Sarajevo during the period 16-19 February 2015.

• Knowledge in web service performance and database optimization.
• Discussion with LPV workgroup about Sales Price Register solution

The workshop was led by Lantmäteriet’s experts Mr. Tobias Lundberg and Mr. Henrik Enfors, who presented the situation in Sweden Geodetic Administration regarding the performance of web services and optimization of databases.

At the beginning of the workshop the experts presented the current state of the architecture of the web service in FGU and Lantmäteriet. On the second day a discussion was held with the workgroup, where the Swedish experts gave their suggestions for upgrading and introducing of new technologies in the field of server infrastructure in the geodetic administrations, with the accent on performance and system security. The third day was marked with the comparison of commercial software and open source solutions, and the discussion about needed resources for introduction of open source technologies in the future.

The Swedish experts are satisfied with the existing system and web services in the Federal Administration for Geodetic and Real Property Affairs, as well as with the plans concerning the implementation of the system upgrades that will improve web services in the Administration and answer all the current user demands.
