Workshop on „Capacity building for gender mainstreaming in the geodetic authorities“ was held

Workshop on “Capacity building for gender mainstreaming and strategic planning” in the Republic Authority for Geodetic and Real Property Affairs (RGA) and the Federal Administration for Geodetic and Real Property Affairs (FGA) was held on February 14-15, 2017 in Teslić.

Participants at the workshop were members of the working groups for gender equality (gender mainstreaming) of FGA and RGA, which, under Component 1 of the project, directly work on promotion of gender equality in the administration and service delivery of geodetic authorities (GA).

The workshop was prepared and conducted by Mr. Saša Savičić, local gender consultant of CILAP project. Interactive approach dealt with topics relating to the basic concepts of gender equality, gender analysis of the legal framework for the operation of GA, gender analysis of statistical data in the GA, the elements for the development of strategic documents for gender equality in GA and elements of a marketing plan to promote gender equality.

After the lectures, there was a joint discussion and exchange of experiences in order to support women within land administration sector.

At the end, Gender Action Plan for Year 2017 was improved by identifying of additional activities and specifying of responsible persons and deadlines, with an aim to contribute to the realization of the vision of gender equality in GA in the most efficient way „Transformation of land administration in the administration that is highly aware of the importance of gender equality in geodetic and property- legal affairs and actively promote it“.

For this purpose, in the current Year organization of round tables, with the aim to introduce women from rural areas to the existing legal framework of property rights, with reference to harmonization process of land registry and cadastre data is planned.
