A workshop was held as part of the inception phase of a new regional project called IMPULS on 23 – 27 June 2014 in Gävle, Sweden.
The objective of holding this workshop was to define manner of implementation of the project, responsibilities of different stakeholders, manner of communication, project administration, etc. Work was done through a series of exercises and discussions to identify expected benefits and needs for each stakeholder of the proposed project.
The expected outcomes of the inception phase and the inception report are:
- Elaborated activity plan for the overall project
- Detailed activity plan by the end of 2015
- Set priorities with indicators
- Project environmental impact analysis
- Project gender equality plan
The project’s main objective is for the countries in the region to have a modern and functional framework for sharing spatial data in accordance with regional and international requirements. The objective is also to accelerate development of innovative INSPIRE services for better decision-making and achieve interoperability of data and services. The project’s beneficiary countries are: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Croatia, Serbia, Macedonia and Kosovo. The IMPULS Project will be funded by the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) with Lantmäteriet (Swedish mapping authority) as a partner. The State Geodetic Administration of the Republic of Croatia will take part in this project as a junior partner of Lantmäteriet.
The next preparatory workshop under the inception phase is planned to be held also in Gävle in early September of this year.
