Trade Meet of Geodetic Administrations from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Republic of Croatia

The eighth trade meet of the geodetic administrations from Bosnia and Herzegovina and the State Geodetic Administration of the Republic of Croatia, organized by Federal Administration for Geodetic and Real Property Affairs, was held in Vlašić from 6 – 7 March 2014 with a view to exchanging experience and know-how in the field of geodesy between the competent geodetic institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia.

The theme of this year’s meet was preparation and implementation of international projects in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia in the field of land administration, while the presenters on this theme were Željko Obradović, Director of Federal Administration for Geodetic and Real Property Affairs, Sanja Zekušić, Senior Advisor in the Cabinet of the Director of the State Geodetic Administration of the Republic of Croatia, and Darko Mišković, Advisor to the Director of Republic Administration for Geodetic and Real Property Affairs of RS.

This year’s meet was also attended by representatives of CILAP Project. The Project Director, Anđa Zimić, briefed the attendees on the international projects of Lantmäteriet, Swedish geodetic administration, as well as on the CILAP Project, resulting from the partner cooperation of the geodetic administrations in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Lantmäteriet and aiming at establishment of an efficient, secure and reliable land administration system in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

At the end of the working part of the meet, the attendees were also addressed by Director of the State Geodetic Administration of the Republic of Croatia, Danko Markovinović, and Acting Director of Republic Administration for Geodetic and Real Property Affairs of RS, Miloš Komljenović, which was followed by the adoption of the conclusions of the meet.

1. The traditional cooperation and continuation of the meets of the geodetic administrations from Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia have been recognized as a good foundation for exchange of experiences in application of the standards for preparation and implementation of the projects in the geodetic and cadastral sectors in regional and international environments.
2. Economic and financial situation in the region requires further engagement and identification of additional extra-budgetary funds for implementation of the essential land administration sector projects, especially in the segment of the spatial data infrastructure and implementation of the INSPIRE Directive.
3. Strengthening institutional and legal frameworks, trainings, special courses and motivation of staff are recognizable activities for potential projects to support the geodetic administrations.
4. Presented activities and results of implementation of loan and grant-funded projects are indicators of already built capacities of the geodetic administrations, but the need for further capacity building in the geodetic administrations and strengthening of inter-institutional cooperation was emphasized with the aim of achieving better coordination in preparation of strategic documents and implementation of projects.
5. A special gratitude was expressed to the donors for recognizing the needs for strategic guidelines of the geodetic administrations in capacity building and higher-quality provision of services to the users.
6. The results of the international projects have been recognized as one of the foundations for economic and social development and legal security in all countries.
7. The next meet of the three geodetic administrations will be organized by Republic Administration for Geodetic and Real Property Affairs of RS.
