THE FIRST CONFERENCE “FBIH GEODETIC DAYS” HELD IN NEUM

The first “FBiH Geodetic Days” were held from April 24 to 26 in Neum, under the high patronage of the President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Lidija Bradara. The initiative to organize this event came from the Geodetic Society of Herzeg-Bosnia, the Association of Geodetic Professionals “Geodet” Tuzla, and the Federal Administration for Geodetic and Real Property Affairs which have been cooperating for many years.

During the opening ceremony, the President of the Federation of BiH, Ms. Lidija Bradara, emphasized that a well-regulated cadastre and land registry are the foundation of legal security and a precondition for any serious infrastructure and investment project, as well as for the development of local communities and the Federation of BiH. The attendees were also addressed by the presidents of the geodetic associations, Ms. Sara Mihaljević and Mr. Ferid Durmišević, the Mayor of Neum, Mr. Dragan Jurković, while Mr. Željko Obradović, Director of the Federal Administration, held a presentation on the topic: “The State and Development Strategy of Land Administration in the Federation of BiH.”

During the working sessions, “Modern Methods of Collecting Geospatial Data” were presented, and Mr. Tomaž Petek, Director of the Surveying and Mapping Authority of the Republic of Slovenia and President of the Management Board of EuroGeographics, gave a lecture titled “From Land Cadastre to a Digital Twin.” A panel discussion was also held on the topic “Land Administration in the Federation of BiH in 2035,” including Željko Obradović, Ivan Lesko, Ferid Durmišević, Mirnes Bojić, and Jakov Maganić.

In addition to an exhibition of the modern geodetic equipment, a session of the Geodetic Society of Herzeg-Bosnia was held during the event, at which the Work Report for 2025, the Work Plan for the current year, and the Society’s Budget for the current year were adopted.

In addition to the professional program, participants also took part in sports activities and a gala dinner, and the event was attended by around 200 participants.
