The fifth Croatian Congress on Cadastre with international participation was held in Zagreb (the Republic of Croatia) on 8 – 9 May 2014, in the organization of the Croatian Geodetic Society and under the high auspices of the Croatian Academy of Engineering. The congress was attended by more than 500 participants from both Croatia and the neighboring and other European countries.
The congress covered the topics that were meant to describe the evolutionary processes of cadastre, geodesy and geoinformatics. The topics for the congress were carefully chosen in keeping with the market conditions and the challenges in the surveying profession, as well as with the current issues in geoinformatics in Croatia and its neighboring countries:
- Legislative framework – geodetic project;
- HTRS96/TM;
- Cadastre and land information system;
- Formalization of illegal buildings/registration in cadastre and land registry;
- Spatial data infrastructure;
- Data exchange formats GML/XML and data processing automation;
- Application of new technologies.
All proposed topics were also in keeping with the fields of activity of the commissions of the International Federation of Surveyors.
The congress was attended by Željko Obradović, Director of Federal Administration for Geodetic and Real Property Affairs, and Ivan Lesko, Director of Administration for Geodetic and Real Property Affairs of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton (HNC), who delivered a presentation entitled “Interconnecting the Cadastre and the Land Registers Under the Preliminary Draft Law on Survey and Real Estate Registration of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina“ as part of the session entitled „Tidying Up of Real Estate Records as a Precondition for Use of the EU Funds in the Field of Infrastructure“.
