THE EXTRAORDINARY EUROGEOGRAPHICS GENERAL ASSEMBLY

An Extraordinary General Assembly of EuroGeographics was held in Leuven, Belgium on 15 - 16 May 2018. This occasion was attended by 63 delegates from 34 organizations from different European countries.

This form of gathering gave an opportunity to the members to gain an insight into the financial accounts of the Association, decide with their votes about the new members of the Association and learn more during the two-day gathering about the knowledge exchange network that EuroGeographics developing. During both days of the gathering all members were also given an opportunity to actively discuss on various topics, while the discussions focused on the products and services that EuroGeographics is developing and offering through its members to potential clients and cases of using that were presented from the viewpoint of the user.

Special attention on this Year's General Assembly was devoted to the launching the production of a new product- CRD (Core Reference Detaset) which would respond to the requirements of the COPERNICUS and CORINE programs. Plans are to start production of such products by members of the Association by the end of 2018 Year. The expected data are on the level of accuracy of the scale from 1:10 000 to 1:50 000, depends on topics.

During this Year’s General Assembly a new official Web site with a new visual identity was also presented, with a new official Assembly’s logo. The final financial accounts of the Association for Year 2017 were adopted and they will be registered in the Belgian Commercial Court.

The Extraordinary General Assembly of EuroGeographics was attended by Mr. Denis Tabučić, on behalf of Federal Administration for Geodetic and Real Property Affairs, which is a full member of this Association.
The next Regular Annual General Assembly, with participation of general directors of all agencies, will be held in October 2018 in Prague (Czech Republic).
