In line with the CILAP Project Annual Activity Plan, a seminar entitled „What FGA Is Currently Working On - Address Register and Draft Law on Survey and Real Estate Registration“ was held on 27 January 2015 in Čitluk. This seminar was attended by about 70 participants, including the mayors of the municipalities: Čapljina, Grude, Posušje, and Čitluk, and many heads of the departments responsible for geodetic affairs of the local self-government units. The seminar was organized for the representatives of the local self-government units from the following five cantons: Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, West Herzegovina Canton, Herzeg-Bosnia Canton, Central Bosnia Canton, and Una-Sana Canton.

The seminar was attended by Mr. Željko Obradović, FGA Director, and Mme Anđa Zimić, CILAP Project Director. They briefed the attendees on what the FGA is currently working on and the CILAP Project activities, focusing especially on the activities presented in the seminar. In the introductory part of the seminar, the attendees were also addressed by Mr. Ivo Jerkić, Mayor of the Municipality of Čitluk, who expressed his satisfaction with cooperation with the Cantonal Administration for Geodetic Affairs of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, FGA, and CILAP Project on implementation of the project aimed at establishment of address register for part of the Municipality of Čitluk.

The activities that are implemented in the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton under the CILAP Project on establishment of address register were presented by Mr. Adelko Krmek. The part of the presentation on the experiences related to the procedures to be implemented to establish an address register that have been gained so far was especially interesting to the participating representatives of the local self-government units. The address register establishment and maintenance application that was developed under the CILAP Project was also presented. The FGA is ready to make this application available free of charge to all local self-government units that decide to embark on establishment of an address register.

The Draft Law on Survey and Real Estate Registration was presented by Mr. Ivan Lesko. The presentation provided a brief overview of the contents of the law, which was followed by a more detailed explanation of the real estate register that is to be established under the Draft Law as a joint cadastre and land register database. The technical and administrative structure of the geodetic industry defined by the Draft Law was also presented. The benefits of adoption of the Law for the local self-government units were highlighted at the end of the presentation.

The participating attendees expressed their satisfaction with the contents of the seminar and highlighted the need to hold more similar gatherings to brief the leaders of the local self-government units on the contents of the Draft Law on Survey and Real Estate Registration.

The seminar for the representatives of the local self-government units from the remaining 5 cantons will be held in Tešanj on 03 February 2015.
