Regional workshop was held in Sarajevo

The regional workshop "Geodetic infrastructure and transition to new reference systems" was held June 13-16, 2022 in the premises of the Federal Administration for Geodetic and Real Property Affairs (FGA) in Sarajevo. The workshop was opened by the FGA director Željko Obradović and the CILAP director Andja Zimić.

The regional workshop brought together geodetic experts from three countries in the region that have support through Swedish donor projects, Northern Macedonia, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as experts from Slovenia and Sweden.

During the workshop, all geodetic authorities presented the current situation in the development of geodetic infrastructure in their country, as well as plans for future transition activities necessary to begin implementing and using new reference systems and connecting to European reference networks.

All geodetic authorities expressed great satisfaction with the workshop, because they were given the opportunity to meet with their colleagues, see the status of development of geodetic infrastructure in the region, Slovenia and Sweden, get acquainted with the problems and exchange experiences.

It was concluded that it is necessary to establish regional cooperation in this area, and an agreement was reached to launch an initiative for regional cooperation, develop a project task, and present the project at the Regional Conference in Slovenia to be held September 21-22, 2022. To finance the project, the application will be sent to the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, and the implementation itself would be supported by the Lantmäteriet.
