IV. CONGRESS ON CADASTRE IN BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA

The IV. Congress on Cadaster in Bosnia and Herzegovina with International Participation organized by the Geodetic Society of Herzeg-Bosnia was held in Neum from 29 to 31 October in Grand Hotel "Neum", under the high auspices of the President of the Federation of BiH, Mr. Marinko Cavara. The basic determinant of this congress was the four basic state registers on which the administrative system of each regulated state rests, namely: register of person, address register, real estate cadaster and land register as well as their interoperability. The information of these registers is an irreplaceable basis for the work of different authorities, public companies, banks, lawyers, notaries, etc. There were 33 presentations which were held in 6 sessions.

In introduction, Mr. Ivan Lesko, President of the Geodetic Society of Herzeg-Bosnia, greeted and welcomed the attendees, emphasizing that the intention of the Society is to provide all interested parties with an insight into the current status of the cadaster and land administration in BiH and the neighborhood.

In the first session, presentations were made in the field of cadaster, land registry, spatial data infrastructure and land administration in general, and the experiences of linking basic state registers (register of persons, address register, cadaster and land register) in Sweden, state of registers and activities to connect them in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the European Council of Surveyors (CLGE).

In the second session, its work, current activities, projects, products and services were presented by the Federal Administration for Geodetic and Real Property Affairs.

After the second session, a formal signing of the contract on continuation of the Capacity Building for Improvement of Land Administration and Procedures in BiH - CILAP project for the next two years was organized. The contract was signed by Mr. Željko Obradović, Director of Federal Administration for Geodetic and Real Property Affairs, Ms. Bosiljka Predragović, Director of Republic Administration for Geodetic and Real Property Affairs Republic of Srpska and Mr. Torgny Svenungsson, Head of Development Cooperation at the Swedish Embassy. This project has played a major role in the preparation and development of a large number of activities and the acquisition of knowledge and experience from Sweden. In addition to financial support, experience in the land administration sector has been taken over. This type of support will be great importance in the next two years.

The activities of the CILAP project were presented through the third session. The previous sessions gave Congress participants full insight into all the activities that are taking place in the land administration in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and highlighted the major leap in land administration that has taken place over the past four years.

During the last three sessions works submitted to Congress (20 works) were presented. The works presented current topics in the field of land administration in Bosnia and Herzegovina and neighboring countries.
