INSPIRE Conference 2016 – Barcelona

In Barcelona (Spain) INSPIRE Conference was held during period September 26-30, 2016. The Conference was organized through a series of plenary sessions to discuss legal experience and implementation of INSPIRE directive, challenges of interoperability and found solutions.

The European Union has adopted a number of laws on environmental protection 10 years ago, in order to preserve the environment for future generations. From then until now a number of challenges and difficulties has been occurred during joint structuring and implementation of legal rules.

Since then, INSPIRE directive has been used as an instrument which enable the framework to achieve goals.

The INSPIRE enables efficient exchange of digital spatial data between public agencies at any level, cross-border data exchange and public use of spatial data. This requires effective coordination among agencies and implementation of legal and technical interoperability.

Consequently, aim of INSPIRE Conference 2016 was to show how INSPIRE Directive is implemented in EU countries and how the European Interoperability Framework isfunctioning.

During the Conference regional IMPULSE project funded by the Government of the Kingdom of Sweden was presented whose main goal is to support the development of Spatial Data Infrastructures in region countries.

The INSPIRE Conference was attended by representatives of Federal Administration for Geodetic and Real Property Affairs namely Mr. Željko Obradović, FGA director, Mrs. Slobodanka Ključanin, IMPULSE project national coordinator and Mr. Denis Tabučić, CILAP project coordinator.
