Information regarding forthcoming IMPULS National workshop

IMPULS National workshop will will be held on March 21-23, 2017 in hotel „Mostar“ Mostar. During the National Workshop experiences from the region and beyond regarding the legislation of Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) and the method of collection and metadata processing will be discuss during the National Workshop.

During first day of the workshop is planned to consider issues of drafting the Law on SDI in the Federation BiH. IMPULS experts, members of IMPULS team from Federal Administration for Geodetic and Real Property Affairs of Federation BiH (FGA), and members of the working group for SDI FBiH institutional and legal issues appointed by the Council of SDI of Federation BiH. The goal of this workshop is to exchange experiences and acceptance of suggestions from the region related to the creation of an appropriate legal framework that is required for successful establishment and implementation of the SDI.

After completion of IMPULSE National workshops, VI session of SDI Council of Federation BiH will be held. The agenda of this session is: adoption of the Minutes of the previous session, the appointment of institutions whose personel will be members of working group on SDI FBiH technical standards, and proposal of decision on development of SDI Council of Federation BiH website.

The topic of IMPULSE National Workshop during second day is preparation and editing of metadata for hydrography and population density, respectively data sets that will be used within IMPULS project. SDI stakeholders that will work on the preparation of editing of metadata are: Agency for Water Area of Sava River Basin, Agency for Water Area of Adriatic Sea and Institute for Statistics of Federation BiH. On behalf of IMPULS project on this workshop will be present: IMPULS experts from region and FGA IMPULS team.

During third day of IMPULSE National Workshop topic will be analysis of data that are collected for different geo-portals (in accordance with the INSPIRE specifications), and the need for development of Stakeholders Registry of SDI FBiH (competence, existing data, requisite changes in data registration, etc.), as well as Data Source of Spatial Data Registry of FBiH (who owns spatial data, how much they are up to date, in which format they are available and similar). Development of these registers is the first step towards creation of metadata, as well as the first step towards the establishment of SDI in Federation BiH. The theme of this workshop is focused towards more SDI stakeholders in the Federation BiH, whether they are on federal, cantonal or on local level of government. The workshop will be led by IMPULS experts from the region and FGA IMPULS team (namely Dr. Slobodanka Ključanin, Denis Tabučić, Nikola Cvjetković, Amira Babić, Tomislav Tomić and Nedim Hadžiosmanović).
