The Real Estate Registration Project implementation has been finished on 31 December 2020. The Project achieved much more than originally planned goals despite major challenges due to the COVID-19 impact during 2020. Four project development goals has been fully exceeded, as well as results for 23 indicators per projects components.
The harmonization activities were fully completed in 253 cadastral municipalities, which is 10 cadastral municipalities more than originally planned. Thanks to the Project activities, a total of 1,047,208 owners and co-owners have registered their rights on real estates, which has improved the safe legal transactions of real estates and development of the overall economy. In order to provide support to the land registry offices in harmonization process, a total of 235 temporary land registry clerks were engaged by project funds.
Thanks to the harmonization process between land registry and cadaster, there was a significant increase in the number of land registry entries based on the new cadastral survey. Currently, 55.4% of land registry data has been based on the new cadastral survey in regards to 33.3% on the beginning of project implementation.
The ratification process of the Real Estate Registration Project (loan number 9048-BA) was completed in record time thanks to the joint action of the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the World Bank representatives. The World Bank declared the Project effectiveness on 17 December 2020 and created preconditions for the continuation of Project activities.
