As part of regional IMPULS Project, a whole day seminar under its WP6 Component was held on 6 October 2015 in Priština, the Republic of Kosovo. The Federal Administration for Geodetic and Real Property Affairs of FBH was represented at it by Nikola Cvjetković, IT and Communications Technical Associate of the Department of Geoinformatics. Mr. Ivan Topić, Adviser to the Minister, represented the Federal Ministry of Physical Planning as one of the stakeholders in the FBH spatial data infrastructure development activities. Necessary knowledge and experience were presented to the participants of the event by Swedish experts Christina Wasstrom, Katrin Falk, and Anders Ryden, as well as by Tomislav Ciceli, Head of the NSDI Department of the State Geodetic Administration of the Republic of Croatia.
The objective of the seminar was to present the importance and benefits of an efficient spatial data infrastructure to the stakeholders (institutions) that are not directly involved in the IMPULS Project, as well as to encourage their stronger engagement in the SDI development activities in the countries from which they came. To this end, the participants of the seminar were presented what was done so far through the IMPULS Project, and they were also explained the key spatial data infrastructure elements such as metadata, services, and geoportals. Efficient data sharing concepts and data harmonization concepts were also explained. All of the above mentioned was also substantiated with examples from the Kingdom of Sweden and the Republic of Croatia by the experts present.
