IMPULS National Workshop was held by Cadastral Agency of the Republic of Macedonia, Skopje

Organization of national workshops regarding topics that are of interest to stakeholders and users of spatial data infrastructure of each country of the Western Balkans are planned within IMPULS project.

Update of Stakeholders Registry and Data Source Registry, as well as the importance of creating and using metadata were topics of IMPULS National workshops held by Cadastral Agency of the Republic of Macedonia. These topics are of interest to the Federal Administration for Geodetic and Real Property Affairs, as well as for users of spatial data in the Federation BiH.

The first day of the workshop on February 15, was dedicated to explanation of importance of the existence of Stakeholders Registry and Data Source of Spatial Data Registry, and discussion regarding local users and producers of data with respect to determination of institutions jurisdiction and their intersection.

On the second day of the workshop, topics regarding institutions jurisdiction for the collection and maintenance of spatial data as well as multiple sets of data collected for the same issues from different institutions were discussed.

The conclusion of the discussion was that jurisdiction has to be examined and to clearly define which data sets or parts (according to INSPIRE specifications) should be collected by certain institutions.

On the same day a workshop regarding metadata - the importance of collecting and structuring, and alignment of national editors with regional, respectively with INSPIRE editor, was organized. In addition, validation of metadata was discussed. The experiences from Sweden and Croatia were presented. The conclusion of this workshop is the following: the collection of metadata becomes effective after the establishment of Stakeholders Registry and Data Source of Spatial Data Registry. After that, establishment of National Metadata Editor is following activity.

The last day of the workshop was devoted to practical examples related to the collection, recording and validation of metadata.

In addition to representatives of national institutions, members of the IMPULS team also attended IMPULS National Workshop. Doc. Dr. Slobodanka Ključanin, IMPULS project National Coordinator of Federation BiH attended the workshop on behalf of Federal Administration for Geodetic and Real Property Affairs.
