IMPULS National Workshop held in Mostar, March 21-23, 2017

In the period of March 21-23, 2017 IMPULS National Workshop was held in Mostar, regarding raising awareness of spatial data infrastructure (SDI), INSPIRE EU directive and publication of metadata. Opening remarks and welcome speech was held by Director of the Federal Administration for Geodetic and Real Property Affairs, Mr. Željko Obradović which marked the start of the workshop.

During the first day of the workshop issues related to drafting of the draft Law on the SDI in the Federation BiH. The workshop was attended by IMPULS experts, members IMPULS team from the Federal Administration for Geodetic and Real Property Affairs, and members of the Working Group for institutional and legal issues of SDI FBiH, who are appointed by the Council of SDI of Federation BiH. Conclusions were made regarding working methods of drafting the SDI law, and the dynamics of meetings of Work Group and submitting reports to the SDI Council of Federation BiH.

Upon completion of IMPULSE National Workshop VI session of SDI Council FBiH, was held, where decisions have been made to initiate activities to organize Working Group for technical standards of SDI in Federation BiH, and to develop the website of the Council of SDI in Federation BiH.

The topic of IMPULSE National Workshop during second day was preparation and editing of metadata for different stakeholders and data sets that will be used within IMPULS project. SDI stakeholders that have attended and worked on the preparation of editing of metadata are: Road Agency of FBiH, Institute for Statistics of Federation BiH, Federal Institute for Geology and others. On the workshop, experiences where presented by: IMPULS experts from Sweden, Croatia, Macedonia and FGA IMPULS team.

During third day of IMPULSE National Workshop issues of collecting data on SDI subjects (Stakeholders Registry) as well as Registry of spatial data sources were discussed. Also, the experience and methodology of the abovementioned registries in Sweden, Croatia and Macedonia were discussed, and the attending participants were informed on collected data in FBiH. Development of these registries is the first step towards the establishment of FBiH SDI. IMPULS experts and FGA IMPULS team led the workshop.
