44th Geodetic Day of Slovenia

Organized by the Geodetic Association of Slovenia, Geodetic Society of Celje and under the auspices of the President of Slovenia Mr. Borut Pahor 44^th "Geodetic Day" of Slovenia was held on March 03-04, 2016.

On this occasion, during first day of the meeting, in honor of the Ruder Boskovic a ceremonial academy regarding the 5^th European Day of Surveyors was organized. Numerous participants and guests were addressed by the president of the Geodetic Union of Associations of Slovenia Mr. Blaž Mozetić and president of the International Cartographic Association (ICA) Mr. Menno-Jan Kraak, gave a presentation on the role of cartography in creation of spatial data.

During the opening ceremony of the 44^th Geodetic Day of Slovenia participants were welcomed by Mr. Blaž Mozetić, president of the Geodetic Union of Associations of Slovenia then Mr. Laško Franc Zdolšek, Mayor of the Municipality Zdolšek, Mr. Anton Kupic, director of Geodetic Administration of Slovenia and Mr. Rafko Bohak president of Geodetic Society of Celje.

A series of interesting lectures and presentations and at the end a round table regarding the role of spatial data in the development of societywere held then.

Among the many guests, upon the invitation of the Director of Geodetic Administration of Slovenia and Geodetic Union of Associations of Slovenia, meetings were also attended by Mr. Željko Obradović, director of the Federal Administration for Geodetic and Real Property Affairs.
