A delegation of the Federal Administration for Geodetic and Real Property Affairs participated in the traditional professional conference “SDI Days 2026”, held on 27–28 May 2026 in Šibenik, organized by the State Geodetic Administration of the Republic of Croatia and the National Spatial Data Infrastructure of the Republic of Croatia.

The “SDI Days” conference is one of the most significant regional events dedicated to spatial data infrastructure, interoperability, data sharing, digital public services, and the application of spatial data across various sectors of public administration, industry, and academia. The aim of the conference was to facilitate the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and best practices in the development and use of spatial data infrastructures, as well as to present contemporary trends in this field.

As part of the conference program, a workshop entitled “High-Value Datasets in NSDI” was held, focusing on open data, high-value datasets, and their role in the development of national spatial data infrastructures. The central part of the conference was delivered through the 15th NSDI and INSPIRE Day, featuring expert presentations, the panel discussion “Next Generation INSPIRE”, and thematic sessions dedicated to geoportals, interoperability, spatial planning, cultural heritage, statistics, risk management, maritime domain issues, and other relevant topics.

During the first conference session, a presentation entitled “Recent Developments in the Field of SDI in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina” was delivered by authors Jasmin Ćatić, Denis Tabučić, Jelena Zelić, and Željko Obradović, representing the Federal Administration for Geodetic and Real Property Affairs. The presentation highlighted the most significant activities, achieved results, and future plans related to the development of the Spatial Data Infrastructure of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with particular emphasis on the legislative and institutional framework, strengthening cooperation among SDI stakeholders, geoportal development, improved accessibility of spatial data, and activities being implemented within ongoing projects.

The participation of the FGA delegation in the conference provided an excellent opportunity to exchange experiences with representatives of institutions, experts, and participants from across the region, as well as to gain insight into contemporary approaches to the development of spatial data infrastructure. Such events are of particular importance for the continuous improvement of SDI-related activities, as they enable the monitoring of new European and regional trends, the exchange of practical experiences, and the strengthening of professional capacities of institutions dealing with spatial data.
