16.05.2014 14:05

An Extraordinary General Assembly of EuroGeographics was held in Leuven, Belgium, on 13 - 14 May 2014.

This form of gathering, which was agreed at the Annual General Assembly held in Helsinki (Finland) in 2012, gave an opportunity to the members to gain an insight into the financial accounts of the Association, decide with their votes on the new members of the Association and learn more during the two-day gathering about the Knowledge Exchange Network that EuroGeographics is developing. All members were also given during both days of the gathering an opportunity to actively discuss and debate on various topics, while the discussions focused on the products and services that EuroGeographics is developing and offering through its members to potential clients. A special emphasis was placed on implementation of European Location Framework (ELF) Project, which is implemented by EuroGeographics with the help of grant funding from EU and through large involvement of its members.

All members were delighted with the news that EurogeoGraphics is launching another Knowledge Exchange Network, Positioning Knowledge Exchange (POS KEN), and the call for presiding over this group was issued, as well as for participation on the board that governs the work of the Network.
With the decision that was arrived at through voting, with landslide majority voting in favor of it, two new organizations were received into the membership of EuroGeographics Association: the Central Office of Immovable Property Registration in Albania and the Geographic High Council’s Territorial Commission in Spain.

Also, the final financial accounts of the Association for 2013 were unanimously adopted and they will be registered in the Belgian Commercial Court.
The Extraordinary General Assembly of EuroGeographics was attended by Denis Tabučić, staff of Geinformatics Division, on behalf of Federal Administration for Geodetic and Real Property Affairs, which is a full member of the Association.

The next Regular Annual General Assembly, with participation of general directors of all agencies, will be held in October 2014 in Chisinau (Moldova).
