The Federal Administration will host the 2020 EuroGeographics General Assembly, the membership association and acknowledged voice of the European National Mapping, Cadastre and Land Registry Authorities, for Geodetic and Real Property Affairs.
This decision was confirmed at the meeting of EuroGeographics steering committee that was held on May 2017 in Brussels. At this meeting, it was also decided that in the following years hosts of EuroGeographics General Assembly will be cities namely Prague and Czech Republic in Year 2018, and London in Year 2019.
EuroGeographics General Assembly is an opportunity to gather management of all relevant European Mapping and Cadastre Authorities, as well as representatives of other European organizations that have a significant impact on the field of geoinformation.
Eurogeographics is a nonprofit organization that was established in Brisel in Year 2001, which currently has over 60 members from more than 45 European countries. EuroGeographics working closely with the European Commission and the European Parliament supporting the implementation of a number of initiatives and projects.
The decision to entrusted host and organization of one of the biggest events during the Year 2020 is certainly a great recognition to the Federal Administration for Geodetic and Real Property Affairs for many years of active participation and monitoring of EuroGeographics.
