EUROGEOGRAPHICS GENERAL ASSEMBLY

The Eurogeographics General Assembly 2023 is one of the most important events in the geospatial information sector, and this year’s Assembly was held in La Valeta, Malta on 19-21 March 2023.

The Eurogeographics is an unique association of the equal public organizations active in geospatial information managing from all over the Europe ( European geodetic administrations for mapping and cadastre). It enables the experiences exchange, best practice and learned lessons, as well as cooperation network where the individual attitudes are reinforced as a collective voice.

The EuroGeographics provides a network of constructive, collaborative dialogue between its members, and between members and interested international stakeholders, in order to overcome technical and institutional barriers which prevent widespread use of the geospatial data. The association represents 90% of the official bodies responsible for geodetic, topographic, cadastral affairs and land registration in Europe and currently gathers 65 cadastral and cartographic agencies from 43 countries. Therefore, the EuroGeographics role is to help in realization of the EU policy program both for its members and European participants.

This year’s General Assembly covered following topics:

• Disruptive technologies (opportunities and challenges)

• Hub-ovi data

• Unmanned aerial vehicles

• Artificial intelligence

• Changes in EU policies and legislation

The Elections for the Management Board was also held within this year's General Assembly and representatives of Netherlands, Armenia and Slovenia (Mr. Tomaž Petek) were selected.

On behalf of the Federal Geodetic Administration at the General Assembly participated Director, Mr. Željko Obradović, and Assistant Director and Management Board member as well, Mr. Denis Tabučić.
