EUROGEOGRAPHICS GENERAL ASSEMBLY

The EuroGeographics General Assembly was held in Prague, Czech Republic from 7 to 10 October 2018. Host of this year’s General Assembly was State Administration of Land Surveying and Cadastre of Czech Republic. Mr. Miroslav Toman, Minister of Agriculture opened this General Assembly, together with EuroGeographics President Mrs. Ingrid Vanden Berghe.

EuroGeographics is unprofitable organization who gathers and represents national, cadastral and cartographic European agencies. Association gathers over 60 agencies as their members, from 45 countries from European region. Main topic of this General Assembly was “Strategic importance of European Location Framework”. Within the Assembly were held many interesting presentations and lectures about role of national agencies for cadaster and cartography in European frames. During the working part of the Assembly emphasis was placed on strategic importance of European Location Framework (ELS) in functioning of e- government and future progress of agencies for cadaster and cartography.

It was discussed about the business of association and it was adopted the business balance for the previous year, also about the operative plan and budget of EuroGeograpshics for 2019. The selection of new members of Steering committee and new President was made. In next two years new members of the Steering committee will be: Mr. Andreas Hadjiraftis- Head of Department of Lands and Surveys of Cyprus, Mr. Kristian Moller- General Director of Danish Agency for Data Supply and Efficiency, Mr. Martin Salzman- Head of the Department for Strategic Planning in Netherland’s Cadastre, Land Registry and Mapping Agency and Mrs. Liudmila Shemelynets-Deputy Director of State Service of Ukraine for Geodesy, Cartography and Cadastre. New President of the EuroGeographics is Mr. Colin Bray- executive responsible for the survey and business in the Ordnance Survey Ireland (OSI).

On behalf of the Federal Administration for Geodetic and Real Property Affairs was Director, Mr. Željko Obradović, CILAP project Director, Mrs. Andja Zimić and employee of Geoinformatics’ Sector in Federal Geodetic Administration and CILAP project coordinator for Federation of BiH,, Mr. Denis Tabučić. Next regular General Assembly was planned for October 2019 in London, Great Britain.
