Activities under the CILAP Project's subcomponent involving development of an address register continued with a study visit to Sweden on 12 – 17 May 2014.
The main objective of this study visit was to introduce to the working group for address register the Swedish address register management system and use of such system by other institutions, as well as the legal frameworks and legislative solutions and business processes involving addressing. In this way the working group garnered considerable experiences and awareness about the importance of addresses and their daily use in administrative and business processes.
In addition to the visit to the headquarters of the national geodetic authority of the Kingdom of Sweden, the working group also had the opportunity to visit the Technical Park, i.e., the „Future Position X“ (FPX) department, where leading European clusters for innovative use of IT geographic data are developed and which is undoubtedly among the leading ones globally in the aforementioned field of activity. As part of a visit to the Municipality of Gavle, a demo presentation was shown on how/from whom the Municipality used the addresses together with GIS.
Representatives of the working group from the Federal Administration for Geodetic and Real Property Affairs of FBiH presented their address register application on the last day, with Mr. Zlatko Modrinić, an IT expert who developed the application, running one entire case of allocating the addresses relating to a specific parcel. The counterparts from Sweden expressed great interest and delight with the application, while the working group from FBiH garnered new experiences and ideas for continuation of the activities in pilot areas.
