Signed Contract on Updating the land registry and cadastre information systems in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina

The Federal Administration for Geodetic and Real Property Affairs has recently successfully concluded the public procurement process for updating the land register and cadastre information systems in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This important step represents a key part of a wider project that aims to improve the efficiency and transparency of the real estate administrative procedures, and the community that originally developed information systems was selected within the public procurement process.

Improvements to information systems will take place in accordance with the previously developed common data model. In addition, in the previous period, amendments and additions of the valid legal acts were adopted, namely, the Law on Cadastre Survey and Real Estate Cadastre, the Law on Land Survey and Cadastre of Property as well as the Law on Land Registry Books in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. These changes were made in order to begin the implementation of the recommendations from the Feasibility study of new system and software architecture of land registry and cadastral information system of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The main goal of updating information systems and their mutual integration is to ensure that citizens and the business community do not suffer due to the complexity of administrative and legislative procedures, and the maintenance of harmonized data will take place with the highest level of transparency and integrity, minimizing the costs of funds and administrative capacities. This project will implement the legally enabled prerequisites for increasing integration in the process of maintaining cadastre and land register data, with an emphasis on areas that have already undergone the harmonization process.

For the implementation of this project, the financial resources have been secured through a World Bank funds, which will enable the full realization of the planned refinements of the information system and improvements in the land registry and cadastre in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
