INSPIRE – GEOSPATIAL WORLD FORUM CONFERENCE HELD

05.06.2015 12:20

This year's INSPIRE (Infrastructure for Spatial Information in the European Union) conference was organized in cooperation with the Geospatial World Forum and held under the name „INSPIRE – GWF 2015„ on 25-29 May 2015 in Lisbon, Portugal.

The INSPIRE conference is a unique event as it brings together data consumers, data producers, and policymakers from throughout the world to discuss all INSPIRE Directive-related topics and more. A forum of stakeholders from governments, academia, and industry is convened every year as a result of their taking part in the conference, where the latest developments in the spheres of INSPIRE Directive and spatial data in general can be learned about and discussed. The conference provides an excellent opportunity to present the developments in the national spatial data infrastructure to the European Community.

This year's INSPIRE conference focused on presentation of geospatial technology and best applications in practice, bringing together to one place policy leaders and geospatial technology industry leaders with practicians and clients in this field. At the same time, the conference is an opportunity for building public-private partnerships among those who need spatial information (environment, transport, energy, utility installations, water management, agriculture, etc.) and those who are capable of delivering and managing this information through geospatial technology and spatial data infrastructure, such as the INSPIRE.

The Federal Administration for Geodetic and Real Property Affairs of FBH ensured participation in this year's conference too through the CILAP and IMPULS capacity building projects, which are presently implemented very successfully with the geodetic authority of the Kingdom of Sweden – Lantmäteriet. The conference was therefore attended on behalf of the Federal Administration for Geodetic and Real Property Affairs of FBH by its Director, Mr. Željko Obradović, Director of the CILAP Project, Mme Anđa Zimić, Deputy Director and Head of the Department of Geoinformatics, Mr. Nedžad Pašalić, and staff of the Department of Geoinformatics, Mr. Denis Tabučić.
