26.03.2015 09:16

As part of the IMPULS Project, the WP2 and WP6 workshops (WP stands for work package) were held on 24-25 March 2015 in Sarajevo. The Federal Administration for Geodetic and Real Property Affairs of the FBH hosted these events.

The WP2 Workshop participants (WP2 stands for the work package titled „Data Sharing Policy and Regulations“) continued their joint activities to define future data sharing on the regional level and contents of the future data sharing agreement.

The objectives of holding the workshop for this work package were:

- preparation of the regional data sharing agreement and ensuring incorporation of the regional data sharing terms in the national data sharing agreements;

- work on preparation of a draft version of the joint regional data sharing agreement;

- joint work on preparation of the national data sharing agreements and presentation of the existing positive examples from the region and the Kingdom of Sweden.

The WP6 Workshop (the main project objective of the WP6 is to demonstrate the benefits of the established spatial data infrastructure) focused this time on data users in themselves. That is why the workshop was attended by the representatives of the institutions that are responsible for managing crisis situations, in addition to the staff of the geodetic administrations, which are implementing this complex project.

The objectives of holding the workshop for the WP6 work package were:

- involving in the project institutions responsible for crisis management as an initial preparation for pilot-test case, including defining their benefits from spatial data infrastructure implementation;

- identifying the data sources of external data required by the crisis management institutions, as well as identifying the institutions that are responsible for maintaining such data.

The main objective of the IMPULS Project is for the countries of the region to have a modern and functional spatial data sharing framework in accordance with the regional and international requirements. The objective is also to speed up development of innovative INSPIRE services for better decision-making and achieve data and service interoperability. The project beneficiary countries are: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Croatia, Serbia, Macedonia, and Kosovo. The IMPULS Project is funded by the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA), with Lantmäteriet (Swedish geodetic authority) as a partner. The State Geodetic Administration of the Republic of Croatia will participate as a Lantmäteriet's junior partner on this project.
